"Y2K" "300,000 B.C." Snake Viper; First Skinwalker living as a human being, nay, in human civilization. Snake Viper, Born 295,232 BC; Born in the first human world after the fall of the golden age. Crude, barbaric humans. their history was a blank to Snake, but eventually he found that they were in awe of him, and even scared. at his birth, his parents had taken on the forms of their present day Werehumans, which stood taller and had less hair, and commanded a small tribe of the earliest humans. However, Human Beings' mental prowess were evolving rapidly, even for their early birth into the world. Normally, Skinwalkers named their children after the species they were morphed into. Snake Vipers would have been a human name, but because, at the time, humans hardly so little as grunted at the time, they did not know what to name him, and they only met two Were Humans in their life. So they named them after the first two animals they encountered after his coming into the world, two vipers. Since Skinwalkers could not just morph into anything, that they had to devour the flesh and bones of a creature, in order to morph into it. They had devoured two Werehumans to gain the ability to morph into them, but were compromised by the fact that they did not have children. these were among the first 12 Werehumans, their identities stolen, their choir silenced. the potential they had to advance the human race toward immortality was lost. However, it was not lost forever, nor even a short time. in fact, the potential shifted from humanity to the already timeless Skinwalkers. seeing as how they already possessed everlasting life unless killed at the hands of another being, the effect it had on their own children was unique. Skinwalkers, barely being able to survive at birth, due to their extraordinarily firm molecular structure, needed constant attention before they became able to survive on their own; and while skinwalkers possessed no social structure, nor any drive to create one, this was the only bonding time most skinwalkers ever experienced. This was because skinwalkers' bodies had very little protection against the elements of life; animals. their bodies were small and frail, and their mouths as small as a fine pinpoint. In order to shape shift, the infant was fed extraordinarily small parasites until the child shifted into a parasite to eat. they were fed small dead animals until the extremely small new life took on the form of something with a larger mouth. From this point on, they were taught by the elements. the parents teach them how to kill only once before departing both each other and their child. Snake Viper's enhanced skinwalker body was immune to the same elements as his parents'. he could not be snapped under heavy weight, his body was, in fact, very soft. he was a ball of putty. This was new, and unusual in the world of skinwalkers, for it resembled the ancient gene of atomic shape shifting, it did appear that snake viper had advanced command over his molecules. He was still vulnerable to the mouths of others, however, for if swalloed, the acidic content of the creature's stomach, or it's lethal venom, Snake would absorb the liquids even faster, being unable to maintain the same solid body as his parents. Normally, skinwalkers were hard, firm, but frail, but now, here, a brand new breed is born. being soft and susceptible to molecular damage, snake was at the opposite, and more dangerous, risk of death. However, due to his more malleable body, his time with his parents was destined to be short. He would be unable to experience the love and affection his parents could only give him once for nearly as long as other skinwalkers. They were lucky to experience it twice, Dragonfly Lady and Black Leopard, to have two children gifted upon them... Even if their extraordinarily rare second child was a short lived parenthood. Their first child, concieved eons before the golden age had come to an end, who was also concieved with unique circumstances, became snake's brother in place of his abandonment hundreds of years later. but for now, Black Leopard and Dragonfly Lady kept close watch on him, in awe of his malleable body. he had just been born and was alive no more than 5 minutes when a large boulder flew out of the sky and crashed into the tribe barely missing 1/3 of them, and only missing Snake and his parents by several feet. it was hot and sizzled at the air, and scared the humans away. They quickly carried him away to a remote location with few animals, watching as more boulders flew across the sky from the south, going in all directions north of them. they took him to a spot where the boulders seemed not to travel and placed him on the ground. Dragonfly Lady Sat and watched him, experimented with touching him in various places, while Black Leopard took off in search of edibles suitable for a skinwalker without a body. Dragonfly Lady was still in awe with Snake's body, seeing that he more resembled a human than an ordinary skinwalker, with slightly rounder appendages, and with the ability to bend them and curve them slowly. it showed that there was heavy resistance with his bending movements, but the fact that he could made him a one of a kind Skinwalker. She poked and prodded, and felt how firm his body was, despite being malleable. it was like soft plastic. she looked into his tiny round eyes and smiled. something strange then caught her eye, his mouth. He was smiling back. at first this was nothing out of the ordinary, because lots of animals smile, she had become accustomed to the shape of the smile that she had forgotten skinwalkers can barely even close their mouths let alone reshape them!!! she picked him up and cooed at him lovingly. For his first meal, Black Leopard had to shape shift into an ant to collect small fleas and mites and kill them. it usually took several of one particular meal before a skinwalker would involuntarily shape shift into it. After traveling a ways south, toward the source of the rocks in the sky, he found a termite den, he thought he'd steal an egg and see if that would work. he shifted into an ant just as a gigantic earth shattering boulder flew several thousand feet overhead, it looked like a pebble, but he knew it was far away by how slow it moved across the sky. he watched as he shrunk and lost his long range sight, becoming an ant. here he entered the termite's den. He couldnt see well, and quickly felt around for an egg. he was scared to death that the termites would kill him right away. Luckily he made it in undetected by killing and eating the first termite he came across in a secluded part of the labyrinth. she shifted into the termite and proceeded. he was lucky to blend in, being in the same body as his meal, he was an ally to these people. they barely noticed him at all as he toured the labyrinth. finally, he found a cluster of eggs. He shifted into a hornet and destroyed enough of the nest to make an easy exit for himself, shifted into a wasp, grabbed the egg, and blasted out of the hive. He flew to the location he had left his newborn child. He found Dragonfly Lady coddling Snake, and his spirits lifted him high as the pheromones of motherhood overcame his sensitive body. the joyous sensation caused him to fly higher and higher without his realizing it. as he rose just high enough to catch the pheromones of bulls and cows over a hill in the distance. the chemicals said danger in his insectile mind. He darted down to his family, and hurled the egg towards his son's mouth when he got close enough. it flew into his mouth, and he began to eat it right away. Snake Viper's huge grin suddenly caught his eye, as he shape shifted into a werehuman again. He placed his hand on Dragonfly lady's shoulder, surprised at the expression no ordinary skinwalker could produce, and she turned to face him. Tears streamed down Dragonfly Lady's cheeks and she smiled. Snake swallowed his meal and cooed with the strange metallic grating sound that skinwalkers produce. to most it would cause headaches and make one cringe, to skinwalkers, it was the most beautiful music in all of the world, the one sound that could instantly pacify any skinwalker. the baby skinwalker's cooing had all but replaced the urgency in Black Leopard's mind. he snapped to and motioned Dragonfly Lady to shape shift into the sky by pointing up urgently, then pointing in the direction of the threat. She handed Snake to him and jumped, morphing into an eagle on the way up then flying away to look. When she caught sight of the cloud, she flew closer, until she realized that there were hundreds of large animals stampeding towards them. She dove back to the secluded spot, and flew past Leopard. He followed her, carrying his new son close to him, hoping that if he was going to morph after only one meal, it would be into an egg, and not an adult termite, so that he could carry him more easily. * * * * * * * * * * * a wild bull breaks group and gallops slightly off to the west of the herd, not stopping, frenzied as ever. * * * * * * * * * * * Snake appeared to fall asleep, unaware of the urgency of the situation. he curled up and became a ball in Black Leopard's arms. His heart soared even higher than before, and he sighed in happiness. when he caught sight of Dragonfly Lady circling in the sky, he slowed down and watched her dive to him. She morphed into a werehuman and smiled at him with relief, and beckoned for her child with desperate open arms. Leopard passed the child over to Dragonfly Lady, smiling.

A tremendous herd of cows was lazily grazing on the grass of their 10 acre meadow, lolling around and enjoying
the day. Several bulls had found mates and were enjoying more than the clear sky and fair weather.
calves were playing with their friends, jumpping about and running around their mothers, the day was a perfect example of the happy cow life.
several cows startled the herd by running quickly north, a few others followed, and many cows suddenly stopped
grazing, scared in the confusion, and looked about worriedly. A gigantic boulder caught the eye of one calf, and it let out a scream that spooked the herd into a frenzy.
The mating bulls had suddenly lost interest in their mates, and began thrashing about, stirring up the crowd even more.
the cows going northbound were suddenly snuffed out of existence as the giant boulder came crashing down several
hundred yards ahead of them, sending dirt, mud, and debris their way, burying them under the tidal wave of earth.
the wave of earth, dirt, and debris slowed as it reached the center mass of the herd, and eventually stopped, but
the herd had transmuted that tremendous energy into a new tidal wave of flesh, muscle, horn, hoof, and dust,
kicking and flailing in the southbound stampede.
A mysterious figure was traveling in the stampede, darting from place to place, cow to cow, until suddenly it attacked a more solitary bull on the outskirts of the stampede. The bull kicked and flailed about for a moment before falling to the ground, heaving on it's final breaths of life. The figure hunched over the bull, worked at something for a moment, stood erect, and suddenly darted away, all but disappearing from the area entirely.
The dead bull twitched, it heaved again, this time, not a breath of life, but a breath of death. the bull wailed into the sky as it's body returned to life in firy agony as the searing blood of his sire flowed through him.
The bull howled again, and took off, charging away from the stampede in search of blood.
the mysterious figure hadnt disappeared completely, but camaflaged itself amongst the herd and kept watch over it's new childe.
This was an experiment, testing the capabilities of his powers; He depleted a bull of it's life force, it's blood, and fed a drop of his own blood at the bull's last breath. To his astonishment, it was enough to bring the bull to life, infused with the same curse as his own. He knew what would happen next, the bull would seek out living blood and experience it's first meal.
He wasnt going to put a stop to his experiment without testing it's limits and capabilities first, for if he could infuse a bull with life everlasting, he could sire any human being to be his childer. He now just needed to see the bull attack his own kin and see if this bull were any stronger than the others of the herd.
He watched as the bull broke away from the herd and took off toward the west. at first this confused him. The bull could have devoured any of it's old friends in the herd and made an easily accessible and satisfying meal of fresh blood in the stampede, but instead took off toward the skinwalkers Caine had been trying to avoid.
This posed a problem, for he knew that if the skinwalkers recognized in the cow Caine's own power, they would devour it before he had a chance to learn what his childer were capable of.
The mysterious figure, Caine, took off as fast as he could, chasing after the bull; however the bull, sensing his sudden approach, charged ahead with advanced reflexes, using up it's blood faster, but gaining more speed than his pursuer. This gained only a momentary advantage for the bull, as Caine raced ahead of the bull and grabbed it by the horns. Thrashing wildly, the bull attempted to break loose, and succeded in ripping off one horn in Caine's tremendous grip.
Caine wrestled the cow to the ground, staring it in the eye. "Perhaps next time, i will have to use a more docile creature." caine said, not blinking. "which means i'll have to exterminate you." The bull's maddened stare broke and the bull blinked and relaxed. He somehow understood what caine had said to him.
Caine stood up and pointed back to the herd. "your food is over there. do not approach the skinwalkers, for they will devour you and with you, my lineage. my power. your newfound strength." Caine impatently ordered the bull to the herd "you will feed from them now!"
The bull reluctantly stood up and began walking toward the herd again. Caine followed further back from behind, watching the bull veer off to one side, as though drunk or tired. "it is over already then? what a waste of my blood." Caine approached the bull, prepared to destroy it.
The bull suddenly shot up and raced toward the skinwalkers again, at full speed. Caine blinked twice and took off after the bull.
they were 12 miles away yet, but at their speed this would be as simple as 96 yards. the bull in the lead with no one to either side, just a lone pursuer, determined to mow him down. at the 48 yard line, just half way to the endzone, the bull broke into tremendous speeds that surpassed Caine's own human body's limitations, and practically disappeared in front of him.
Caine worried about this for a moment, and decided to sire a new cow to replace the bull should the skinwalkers overpower and devour him.
This time a female. just incase the bull miracoulously survives. this was to be the next step was to see how his own kin of the opposite sex would interact, to see if his kind could still breed. though Caine had no abilities to reproduce, perhaps his childer could still. He spotted another straggler in the stampede, a young cow that couldnt keep up was the perfect subject.
Though Caine held no intentions of keeping the experimental childer alive in the first place, he did not want the skinwalkers to grow beyond his own power exponantially by reisking exposure to them.
"it seems i am at a loss this time, i must begin siring humans immediately. that bull is as good as dead." He abandoned his cow, and swiftly sought out the nearest tribe of humans.
The bull was nearly upon Snake Viper and his family, charging them down, thirsty for blood. The bull could sense their tremendous power, and was immediately attracted to them for a more satisfying meal. He was within sight of them, and charged. the bull was suddenly amazed at the enhanced reflexes and increased awareness he was experiencing, able to smell his victim's blood from so far away, no longer requiring a new breath of air to keep his muscles active, the only thing that plagued him was a tremendous thirst for blood that burned throughout his body.

As Dragonfly Lady reaches out for her newborn child, the sound of hoofbeats begins to reveal itself, growing louder and heavier at a startlingly rapid pace.
The tormented howl of a crazed, bludlusted bull sends the newborn skinwalker into a wailing fit, the sound of high pitched nails on a chalkboard pierced the very fabric of sound, sending all who had ears to their knees. To a skinwalker, however, this sound did not cause pain, but worry and sadness.
The bull winced and fell backward in it's own stampede, skidding to a halt on it's back before Black Leopard. He gazed down at the pained bull, who was wincing under the piercing pain of Snake Viper's wails. Dragonfly lady was successfully comforting her child into a calmed state, who cooed after a minute of infantile sobs and wails. The bull's headache magically disappeared when Snake went silent, and suddenly charged Black Leopard into a tree. Snake was startled and let out a gasp, a sound something similar to an overflowing toilet flushing, but played at a fast speed, about the speed of a gasp.
The bull gored Leopard's human form in the left arm, severing the muscle from the bone, and tearing ligiments. Black Leopard Howled, and quickly morphed into another bull. Luckily, Leopard had devoured a particularaly large, and strong bull. Unluckily, unbeknownst to him, Leopard was against a vampire bull.
Caine, the first vampire, the only vampire on earth, was not known to be able to sire childer, so the thought would have been as alien as whales on Mars.
The bull thrashes at Leopard, severing it's horns entirely, and smashing it's skull against Black Leopard's snout, breaking his snout and jaw. Leopard howls in pain, and gores the bull in the throat. to his surprise there is no blood, and the frenzied bull seems hardly phazed. The vampire bull snorth, and turns away from Black Leopard, seeking easier prey, he targets snake. Dragonfly Lady did not have many forms available to her to shape shift, in order to protect her child, she had to be able to carry him, and outrun a berserk bull. she did not have time to think and let her instincts guide her as she took off running on her two legs, clutching her baby close to her breast. Snake began doing something strange, albiet usually impossible, for a skinwalker, and despite the awkward moment for breast feeding, he began drinking his mother's breast milk. The sudden motherly instinct of human beings took over and she took off back toward Black Leopard. the bull whipped around, lost it's footing and skidded into a large rock. it slowed only a little before launching off the rock after Dragonfly Lady. Black Leopard had already transformed his bones and organs to prevent further damage to his body by taking on the form of a wolf. He was at disadvantage in this form, but he did not have many animals in him that could stand against a bull either. He saw Dragonfly Lady running back toward him, and charged the bull, leaping on it's back, digging his claws in and he slid off. the bull felt that one, but it wasnt enough to stop him, or even slow him down. Leopard's only advantage was that the bull could not run as fast through the trees around them, and caught up to attack again. This time he morphed into a human after he landed on the bull's back. he held onto the bull with a headlock, and kicked at it's ribs frantically, ignoring the fact that his right arm was useless. Ignoring the fact that his right arm hurt too much to use it. Ignoring the fact that this will probably kill him. He held on tight, and kept on kicking.
Dragonfly Lady ran into a shallow lake, and was able to carry her child across. the water slowed her down, but she held out hope that Leopard could slow the bull.
The bull was slowing down as it gave into Leopard's distractions, and suddenly halted, throwing him off his back. Leopard flew 7 feet and crashed into a tree, breaking his back. He began morphing. he was out of options and became a dragonfly. He flew into the bull, who was confused and dumbfounded. The dragonfly landed on the bull's back, which somehow triggered the bull's senses, and sent the bull into a newfound frenzy. Leopard was again launched from the bull's back, but flew safely upward and watched teh bull calm down, and circle itself, looking for any trace of his attacker.
when the bull came to a stand still, leopard flew down and morphed into a scorpion. the bull twitched and snapped toward Black Leopard, mid transformation, and rose to its hind legs, threatoningly. as Leopard fell close, the cow stompped, leopard landed on the bull's neck, and stung and pinched madly before falling, and shapeshifting, to the ground. He was now a flea, and took off after his wife and child.
Dragonfly lady had found a small cave up a steep cliff with small footholds, and was watching Black Leopard from above. Snake Viper whome had had to discontinue his meal while his mother climbed the small cliffside, was now enjoying his mother's milk again. Dragonfly Lady stood in absolute awe at this experience, staring deep into her child's eyes, smiling.
Snake's body began to change in Dragonfly Lady's arms, subtle at first, then stark and obvious, snake slowly began becoming human.
When he had fully shape shifted into a baby boy, he stopped feeding and looked into Dragonfly Lady's eyes with curiousity and awe. She teared up, smiling, holding her second miracoulous son.
Black Leopard had spotted Dragonfly Lady holding a human child on a cliff overhead and morphed into a dragonfly again to fly to it.
When he was inside, he shifted into a small monkey, and stared at the baby, suddenly recognizing his as his son. To be a father twice as a skinwalker was simply beond belief. to have two sons with similar miracoulously pliable genetics was impossible.
Black Leopard poked the child in Dragonfly Lady's arms. the baby squealed with delight and grabbed his father's finger and giggled. Though only a day old, this child's body was several months old in every way.
Black Panther and Dragonfly Lady had two children now. they were going to learn something that most skinwalkers never do, though which their first child was born knowing. Skinwalker families are rare, most skinwalkers never have children, and the few that do abandon them shortly after the child can prove it can survive alone. this was no different for Black Panther's father, this was no different for Black Panther, this was no different for his first son. But with a second child things change for the skinwalker. they become a family and learn about love and communication.
It's the love that brings them together.

295,136 BC The one, and only, wereskinwalker was once an avatar of change for the skinwalkers, before the fall of the golden age of man. He once taught other skinwalkers humility and shame, as well as police the unruly ones and try to keep them in line enough to get their attention. Many saw his true intentions and understood his message, more still refused to acknowledge him and even avoid him all together. He Took it upon himself to teach his kind humility, respect, and honor. he was trying to bring them together and bring forth society in his people. language was still new to the human species midway through the golden age. it wasnt until just before the fall of the hearts of men destroyed the unity of the earth and severed the connection to the gods before language was common place amongst human kind. Even still, it was often taught using symbols, or crude writing, which wasnt even common place, and ever yet to be standardized, until after the golden age had already begun slipping to an end. The skinwalkers hadnt taken notice of Odin's teachings during the golden age, and furthermore never realized the major potential of communication until Shadow Wolf was born. To many, he was the messiah of the shape shifters. He was destined to bring forth civilization from the otherwise barbaric Skinwalkers. However, his destiny was cut short, by skinwalker standards of time, when the golden age had slung to war and what chance of leading his people to civilization were ended when his pupils and followers fled on his command to the subteraniums of the Earth, deep underground where an interior sun lie and a beautiful paradise world secretly hiding from the surface. He, however, stayed back, in hopes of cultivating a new following to return to his people below the Earth. 2 of his comrades stayed with him in show of support, however he never saw them again and doesnt know where they have gone. Few skinwalkers have been easy to find, fewer still have shown any interest in learning to become more socialized. Finally, there's always the few who cant even comprehend communication and simply act on instinct. Fight or flee. Shadow Wolf had been trying for thousands of years to rebuild a society of skinwalkers before he recieved any successes. It was thanks to one or both of his friends across the world that he eventually ran into a more open minded skinwalker. It was thanks to this new friend that, 4,632 years out from the golden age, Shadow Wolf had formed a tiny culture of 144 Skinwalkers. It was also thanks to this particular member of the clan that Shadow Wolf was able to make contact with and learn that his parents had left the paradise of the subteraniums. he set out in search of them. His journey to find his parents took him across the globe and back, going to palces he's never been, visiting places over and over, revisiting places he's known many times, going back to places he'd never been to once before... his journey took him 136 years to complete. in those 136 years, he managed to maintain a constant flow of influence over his small society and many of his followers would set up small communities with, but apart from the society as a whole. in the end, Wolf ran into his parents unaccompanied. They were shocked to see him so soon after being contacted by one of the skinwalkers that stayed behind with him. They had never expected to see him in a thousand years. The second society that Wolf had brought forth had benefitted both parties a thousandfold.

The first society of skinwalkers thrived under Shadow Wolf's constant guidance, and flourished in the days marking the end of the golden age. In fact, the first society of skinwalkers was at it's best just before the exodus to preserve their hard work and effort. However, they would never have had to leave had it not been for the prejudice of man and the descovery of the skinwalkers in the first place. Shadow Wolf tried desperately to reconcile with the humans in the end of the golden age. he tried to reason with them at all turns, but the majority of mankind neglected to listen to him and would refuse to look past his inhumanity. He had even gained the support of the Human Therianthropes, the werehumans of the golden age, but even they could not sway the masses of mankind.
In the end, the races and the few small nations of man whome supported the skinwalkers, bound together and sought unity in the Inner World, deep beneath the Earth's surface. Many of the leaders of several species requested that Shadow Wolf accompany them, and continue sharing his great leadership skills. The leader of the Therianthropes even offered to step down and bow before Shadow Wolf as supreme Therianthrope, nay beyond therian, a Metomorphomonid. But wolf declined, saying that he was meant to be a warrior, not a politician and that his leadership skills were in his followers, not himself. "I am merely a guide to keep people in check at all times. i am needed on the surface for now." was the last thing he had said to anyone from the golden age, was the last thing he had spoken to his friends before parting ways at the end of the golden age. With that, the various leaders of the many cultures, tribes, races, and species bound together and lead their peoples to paridise in the subteraniums.
Now, Shadow Wolf runs along the lush plains of what is now the sahara desert in the body of a cheetah. For the most time, Shadow wolf and his band of skinwalkers remained in socialable bodies. usually one type of therian or homonid or another. Most of them were werewolves and human beings, but there were several whome had made meals of other hominid beings before the end of the golden age and separation from the source. The Skinwalker that delivered the latest message to Shadow Wolf on the wherablouts of his parents was an Orc, proud of his body for having defeated and devoured his oponent in hand to hand combat. he gained a lot of respect from Wolf when he showed his pride and honor.
He and shadow wolf were engaged in combat from the moment they met. Wolf was seeking other kin to band together and support each other, Cougar Bear was seeking skilled warriors. Cougar Bear lived for the fight, he lived not for the sake of defeating his oponents, but for finding the one who could grant him an eternal match. the oponent he could never defeat, but whome could never defeat him.
When Shadow Wolf discovered Cougar Bear, he was busy "showing off" his massive Orcish body and honed skills to a werebear who was scouting for his tribe for other warriors to join his people's defensive efforts against a pack of werewolves.
Even though the werebear, Otis, failed to defeat the mighty Orc, he won over Cougar Bear's respect, and he agreed to help them defend their village.
It was there that Shadow Eolf encountered him. All of the orcish tribes deserted the surface world, none would remain alive today without a society. Wolf immediately recognized this faux-Orc to be a skinwalker.
While Cougar Bear was aiding the Werebears, Shadow Wolf had taken up arms for the attacking Werewolves. He had promised an informat the favor of aiding them in their territorial efforts in exchange of any information regarding skinwalker activity.
The only way he could possibly negotiate a position with the Skinwalker was now to engage in mortal combat.
All he knew was that he would be on the lookout for a highly skilled and brutish warrior who had been seen engaging in battles with various opponents in the area. Neither Wolf nor his informant expected him to side with the Werebears.
The werewolves had been attacking the werebear encampments on the borders of their land for a week before Wolf joined them. His first battle was to be the following night at twilight. They would call a ceace fire for the rest of the day, and wait till the bears were sleeping before striking hard and fast.
Fate was on the side of the werewolves, for this particular night was without a moon, and at the darkest hour of twilight, visibility was cut to practically none.
As expected, the Werebears had several men up and patrolling the village by campfire. this gave the werewolves an added advantage, they could see in, but the villagers couldnt see out.
"alright men, we've got some backup tonight, the best of the best of the best skinwalkers there are. we've got us a wereskinwalker on our side, we cant lose." there were a couple cheers of support. "we're nearing the village, so keep it down. we're going to surround them before attacking. two men at each 8 points around the village. one man per group goes in at first, to stir things up. then the second men rush in to catch them with their guard down. we begin on Shadow Wolf's command."
Everyone agreed and understood. they arrived at the parimeter, they could see the campfires and 6 patrolmen. "ok" wolf said in a hushed voice, "everyone get in position, we're going to take them by surprise." he stayed put while the others circled around the encampment. "i'll go in first, you must keep absolute silen-"
The deep, booming voice of an Orcish berserker boomed all around them. "WE'VE GOT US SOME SCAVENGERS!" Cougar Shouted, alterting the patrolmen, and waking the guards and militia. "THEY'RE TRYING TO SURROUND US!"
"we've been spotted, rush them!" one of the Werewolf generals shouted.
Wolf homed in on the loud voice of an Orc. He knew it wasnt the voice of a bear, bears couldnt yell that loud, and their voices didnt carry that far.
Meanwhile, Cougar bashed in the skulls of several werewolves, and was working on pounding another.
Wolf had been rallied with the Werewolves, and had taken on the body of a werewolf until now. He morphed into a werebear and charged Cougar. Cougar blocked Wolf's crushing blow at the last second and stared him down. "WHAT YOU DOING, I HELP REMEMBER??" he said. "WAIT YOU DONT LOOK FAMILIAR! WHO ARE YOU?" Wolf dodged Cougars giant fist just moments before it came crashing down on his head. In the flow of the sidestep, he had also changed shape from a Werebear to a Troll. His muscle now matched the Orc, however his body was not built for speed or footwork now, so he had to defeat this Faux-Orc fast.
He uppercutted right away, taking advantage of his extra long arms, and low center of gravity to knock Couger to the ground. He tried to follow up with a stomp, but he had knocked Cougar back too far to reach him without jumpping. Cougar was too quick, he was on his feet before wolf could lift a foot. Cougar rushed him, clasping both fists, preparing to crush Shadow Wolf all at once. Wolf extended his arms to slam into cougar just as his arms arrived, deflecting his attack, and stopping him in his tracks. Wolf's awkward body was no match for an Orc of this calibur, he shape shifted into a WereElf, and kicked Cougar as hard as he could.
Cougar winced, but did not move. Wolf had kicked him in the solar plexus, and knew he had time to shape shift again.
Cougar Bear coughed, and clutched his chest while Shadow Wolf shifted into a Werehuman and stood back.
"You are a true warrior, Cougar Bear." Wolf said.
"You know my name?" Cougar said, quietly, as he was unable to acatch his breath just yet. "i no know no skinwalkers like you, how you know me?" he coughed.
"You have a strong reputation in these woods, a lot of tribes have been fighting with you, using you to become stronger. a Werewolf you fought just a month ago told me your name and what you've been doing. However it was intuition that led me to you. he did not know you were a skinwalker, not even did he know you were an orc, but something about how he described you as brutish and mean did not make sense, so i agreed to help his people fight the werebears in hopes of finding out more about you." Shadow Wolf explained. Cougar appeared to be understanding, so he went on.
"When i heard your booming voice, i all at once knew you werent a werebear, i knew it was you, Cougar Bear, and i knew something wasnt right about your voice. it wasnt until i saw you fighting that i knew you were an Orc."
"but how you know me skinwalker?" Cougar interrupted.
Shadow Wolf smiled. "you've been on your own for a long time, havent you? no, that is okay, i am merely observing that you did not know there are no Orcs left on the surface."
Cougar looked confused. Shadow Wolf explained again, "All the orcish tribes fled to the under grounds with the other societies, they were one of the only species that completely abandoned the surface world, THIS world."
Cougar had finally caught his breath, and glared all at once at Shadow Wolf. Wolf caught his glare, and took a defensive stance, while morphing into a Werewolf. "more?"
Cougar let out a booming yell, and charged at wolf again, this time catching him in the stomach, lifting him high into the air, finally tossing him up, and away into a large tree, crashing into it with so much force, the tree let out a loud, roaring *CRACK*.
Wolf fell down, limp and barely conscious. Cougar laughed "I AM STRONGEST WARRIOR!" as he raised his foot high into his hip, preparing to stomp Shadow Wolf out of existence.
Wolf coughed, and shifted into a flea just as Cougar's foot came crashing down, making contact with Wolf's back for barely a split second, as he shrank to the size of a flea.
Cougar's stomp produced a deep foot shaped crater where Wolf had just been laying, nearly beaten. Cougar's confusion didnt last very long before he realized more consciously that he was fighting another skinwalker.
"I NOT FIGHT OTHER SKINWALKER IN LONG TIME! HA HA HA! YOU BE GOOD CHALLENGE!!" Cougar Bear laughed and roared happily. "I LOSE IF I HAVE TO CHANGE! IF YOU BEAT ME, I JOIN YOU."
Their fight raged on, oblivious of the battles between Werebear and Werewolf, unaware of the truce called between them, completely apart of the world around them for days.
Their fight used up all of the energy the two had had, Cougar, finally barely able to stand, and wolf, with his many shapes each beaten and battered, the only forms he had left that could stand, let alone walk, were that of a flea, a mosquito, an otter, a humming bird and a squirrel.
on the fourth day of their match, Cougar fell to his knees to catch his breath after chasing wolf to exhaustion as a hare.
Wolf heard the brute collapse, and hurried away far enough to communicate, and shifted into a human being. "please, let us end this, i cannot fight you any longer, my bodies are all spent, it will take me months to heal all my forms!"
"I... I CAN... STILL Stand..." Cougar said, straining to get to his feet. Swaying, he continued "i will crush... you...?" he said as he fell to the ground and passed out.
Upon passing out, his body morphed out. unable to consciously control the metamorphosis, he became a bare skinwalker again.
Wolf's human body wasnt in good condition, but it was better off than the rest of his homonid forms, he dragged the skinwalker into the forest caves to rest and recover.
he frailly collected some wood for a fire, and passed out in the form of a squirrel beside the fire.
at dawn, Cougar awakened to a smoldering fire pit, a stirring squirrel, and sensations that indicated he was no longer an orc, but a skinwalker again. He looked around the cave. it was small, barely a cavity in the side of a cliff, maybe 45 feet deep, but at least it kept the wind out. Cougar Bear shape shifted into his prized orcish robes, his body still beaten and exhausted.
He sighed heavily "YOU... you friend..." he said, looking toward the squirrel.
He nearly passed out again, and took the hint. he shape shifted into a beautiful, young, Wereorc woman.
His least favorite body, but somehow the most approperiate for defeat. His two orcish meals who were were once lovers were now persons lost forever, their faces trapped in one skinwalker's body. Couger wept for a moment, unable to control himself until his body invoulentarily shifted into a Werecougar.
Wolf had waken up, and stretched about. scratching himself, he shape shifted into a human again, only to pass right back out.
The next few months went on like this, Wolf would sleep all day, every day, and wake up long enough to morph into another animal, only to pass out from his battle wounds and exhaustion spend on that particular body. Cougar Bear's loyalty earned Shadow Wolf's respect at the end of the Healing processes.
When, finally, Shadow Wolf healed up, restoring his Werehuman form last, Cougar Bear was still in the cave, even tending to Shadow Wolf's comfort, he knew that Couger Bear was now eternally his closest friend.
"YOU IN GOOD SHAPE NOW?" Wolf noded. "WE FIGHT AGAIN NOW?" Wolf grinned huge.
Since their last battle, he hadnt seen a familiar face until he ran into Cougar one last time with information on Dragonfly Lady and Black Leopard's whereabouts.
"THEY BEEN LIVING IN THE PRARIES FOR A WHILE NOW" Cougar boomed in his favorit orcish body. "ONE OF THE WERECOWS SAID THEY WERE LIVING IN A SMALL OIASIS NEAR THEIR GRAZING LANDS." Wolf Noded. "Thank you Cougar. you've been a tremendous help my friend." He said, clasping Couger's shoulder.
"WE FIGHT NOW?" couger roared, smiling. "I'm afraid i cant go all out this time, Bear." "I NO CARE, LET'S FIGHT."

Wolf arrived where Couger had directed him, passing a stampede on the way. he found the oasis Cougar mentioned, and figured he'd check it out first. From afar, he spyed two figures in a cave atop a small cliff, and decided he'd check with them first, figuring the chances they were his parents were pretty high. So he climbed the cliff. It had been 63 years since Shadow Wolf and Couger's last brawl. 63 years since Couger told Wolf where to find his parents. It was 63 years that wolf had been traveling alone in search of his parents, and now he stands before them with a dumb look on his face. He doesnt know what to say, he had forgotten why he was looking for them, and now he was completely distracted by the newborn Skinwalker in his mother's arms. Black Leopard spoke up to break the tension "Congratulations Shadow Wolf! you have a sibling now!" He felt foolish and dopey after saying it and felt like the tension had been less awkward until Wolf responded, "how long has he been alive?" His mother never took to language very well, and hers was still a little broken "not long." she said "today". Wolf was shocked. he just happened to run into his parents after childbirth?! the coincidence nearly knocked shadow wolf down. He stumbled a little but instead of falling, he smiled on his newborn sibling, which seemed to correct his balance. "what's his name?" He said, as his mother lifted her child, permitting Shadow Wolf to pick him up. Shadow wolf was hesitant, and then held up his palms, "no, thank you" he said, feeling more awkward than ever. Black Leopard answered His son's question "Snake Viper. We named him like we named you, under the same circumstances... but this time, he isnt a wereskinwalker, however..." His father trailed off, thinking about how to explain the situation. Dragonfly Lady chimed in "we mate as humans to bring him into world, but not know human names, we name him after animals around us like we do you, two black wolf; he, two viper snake." Wolf smiled. He shape shifted into a weresnake (wereviper to be precice) and stared at his baby brother. Snake Viper cooed and smiled up at Shadow Wolf, reaching for him. Suddenly he began morphing unexpectedly, transforming into a tiny termite hatchling. "His first meal was termite egg." Dragonfly Lady explained "he special, like you, but not the same. he drink my milk too, became human baby today." Shadow wolf was shocked once more. "But you said he isnt a wereskinwalker?? how is he able to adapt so fast and morph so fluidly??" Wolf demanded more than asked. "We ate two werehumans with a special gift, a gift we will one day have to return to the humans... but for now..." His father trailed off again. "humans no get long life, we eat the great long life humans to be them. they make baby special." "The werehumans we devoured were immortals, and their genetics altered Snake's, giving him enhanced abilities, but his body is more firm than yours. where you are like mud, he is like soft clay, where we are hard like wood. he isnt wereskinwalker, but he is... evolved."
Shadow Wolf looked down on his brother and smiled again. "so you're a special one huh?" he said. He felt a brief vibrating sensation under his feet. everyone felt it, they looked around, but saw nothing. The cave floor vibrated again. Black Leopard approached the cave entrance. the vibrations shook them again, this time cracking of the stone could be heard. He looked outside the cave to find the raging bull hadnt given up pursuit after all. "we need to leave, protect snake! the bull is back." Wolf almost laughed "a bull is after snake viper? why didnt you just devour it?" Dragonfly lady placed the tiny termite skinwalker in wolf's hand, with a look of urgency upon her face that rudely stole all humor from the situation. He clasped his hands together. "protect him, Wolf!" she pleaded. Wolf nodded, and followed his parents out of the cave. Leopard headed toward the bull "you two find safety, i will keep the bull from following." Shadow wolf tried to follow his father, but his mother's hand gripped his shoulder and tugged him in the opposite direction. "keep baby safe!" she demanded, and pushed Shadow Wolf ahead of her. "yes, sorry. i will." They ran toward the lake while Black Leopard fought with the bull. they wrestled hard, Leopard pinning the bull to the ground, the bull thrashing wildly. Finally, the bull bucked Leopard off of him and into a stone outcropping, knocking him unconscious. The bull charged toward the other three. Shadow Wolf's Wereviper leg muscles pumped, his tail muscles slithered on, his hands, still claspped together firmly, he began to feel his termite sized baby brother shape shift again. he tried desperately not to drop him as he morphed into a human infant, and urged his mother to take him off his hands. They stopped running long enough to exchange hands. as Snake was safely placed in his mother's arms, Wolf's weresnake tongue flicked out, and picked up danger. he smelled the bull closing in on them perilously close. He snapped around immediately after Snake had left his hands, just in the nick of time, whipping the bull between the eyes with his tail, sending the bull into a fury. It charged over Shadow wolf, trampling him, and rupturing his weresnake intestines.Wolf immediately had to morph out, but pained by his injuries, lost consciousness and morphed back into a vulnerable skinwalker. His mother screamed as the bull mowed her over, and her precious newborn child was thrown from her grasp. The bull trampled her and then charged after the baby. Dragonfly Lady's injuries were severe, but not mortal. she morphed into a fox and chased after the bull. Wolf and his father were unconscious. Dragonfly Lady was closing in on the bull. Snake Viper, completely oblivious, smiled and squealed. The bull was completely gone, lost to the beast of the vampire, possessed no shred of self awareness, closed in on the child, opening it's maw, revealing the two trademark vampire fangs, ready to devour it's first meal.
Dragonfly Lady screamed in her fox voice and leapt at the bull without effect. her small size was not enough to even phase the vampire bull. Lowering itself to the infant skinwalker, the bull attempted to bite the child's head clean off. Engulfing the head in his maw was one thing, but now the bull had to actually sever it. This proved impossible, as every movement the bull made to try to sever the child's head only wound up producing more flesh. it's fangs would not pierce the baby's skin, but leave gaping holes in the shape of fangs without piercing the flesh. the smell of blood so close drove the bull mad, that he could not taste one drop of blood he began thrashing. He crushed the fox beneath his rear hooves, splattered the baby underneath his front hooves, and after a moment of enraged thrashing, lost all remaining energy and collapsed before the organic puddle of baby matter. Snake giggled again, and opened his mouth. Wide, wider, wider still, he continued opening his mouth until all the matter in his body redistributed to becoming a giant mouth, growing over the helpless vampire bull. Shadow Wolf came to in time to witness the destruction of the bull by a... small egg shaped sack of flesh with a 15 foot diameter mouth? he blinked. blinked again, and rubbed his eyes. when his hands entered view, he realized he was no longer a weresnake, and began morphing into a werewolf.
Being that he was a wereskinwalker, he did not have to wait longer than 15 seconds to transform, whereas other skinwalkers would take up to an hour to transform out of the stiff confines of the skinwalker body. during this 15 seconds of grotesque and deformed werewolf body parts cultivating themselves on and in his liquid skinwalker body, he also slumped and slithered toward the bull. as he got closer, and as his vision became clearer, he realized the small fleshy egg was actually his baby brother. Snake devoured the bull then slowly morphed and sloshed about, back to the form of a human baby. He looked up at his brother and squealed in delight. "you really are special, huh?" Wolf said as he bent over to pick up his brother.

295,050 BC "For crying out loud snake!! dont you ever STOP eating?! You already have this animal's genetics, you dont NEED to have 50 different faces for every species on earth!" Wolf joked and complained with his little brother, as Snake devoured another buffalo. "what is that? your twelfth buffalo too?! hahaha, you really are a bottomless pit, arent you?" Snake Viper grinned "i dont know, im just starving all the time! i can never get enough to eat! it feels like im constantly decomposing haha!" Shadow Wolf had been trying to teach viper the finer points of molecular shape shifting, but was having trouble getting his little brother to focus, what with him constantly looking for another "snack". "if you keep this up, snake, you're going to make everything go extinct... cant you just preserve your energy and try to pay attention?" Viper was busily staring at a lone turkey vulture circling over head above him. "uh yeah i can do that, umm hold on..." he said as he shape shifted into an Eagle and shot to the sky, killing the turkey vulture. Wolf rolled his eyes. "get your ass down here and pay attention already!! finish your meals and then calm down!!" Viper swooped down and landed on the buffalo carcas, carrying the turkey vulture in his beak. "but the blood tastes so good, i cant get enough of it!!" Shadow Wolf's little brother complained. "finish your meals, and appreciate them to the fullest, cuz the next time you try to kill some poor helpless animal, im going to have to eat YOU." Wolf's idle threat worked. Viper enjoyed his turkey vulture au buffalo, savoring every drop of blood. "now, if you'll just sit still and listen, you sdhouldnt wind up starving again for another week! well... knowing you, maybe that will be just 7 hours, but still, calm yourself! haha im getting fed up with this, my patience wears thin...." Snake Viper gave wolf his full attention, sitting still and keeping his eyes fixed on his big brother to show he was ready to listen. "... now then. you have mastered your shape shifting skills quite fast, i must admit. maybe it's that appetite of yours, and the collection of genes you've hoarded, but let's move on to the next level of genetic manipulation, shall we? can you shift only one arm into a bear's arm, or even better yet, one finger, into that of a bear's claw?" Viper attempted to shift his left arm alone. as he struggled to suppress the shifting in all of his body except his arm, his face gave way first, transforming into a snout first, then a wave of change swept over his body and... he was a whole bear. Shadow wolf broke out laughing. "oh man you should have seen your face!! you were so focused too! hahahaha!" Viper roared at his brother in discontent and morphed back into a human being. "hey if you think it's so easy, let's see you-" as he demanded an example, wolf had already shape shifted his head into that of an anaconda, his left arm into a wolf's leg, his left leg into a kangaroo's leg, and his right leg into a small dangling frog's leg. he fell over, unable to maintain his balance on one kangaroo leg, but laughed at himself, and his brother. "oh real funny bro. real funny." Viper commented dryly. "heh, sorry. okay let's both calm down and try again, shall we?" Snake rolled his eyes "what's this we stuff? you dont even have to try!" "then you had better practice so you can catch up!" Wolf grinned. They spent the day practicing their genetic control together, devouring animals, too many in wolf's opinion, and playfully cajoling one another. The night had just settled upon them when Snake finally asked his brother for the first time "why am i so much more hungry than you and the others? i've never seen another skinwalker, or any other creature on earth, eat as much as i do..." his eyes expressed a deep seated concern that wolf hadnt realized his brother possessed. this concern, in fact, concerned him. "yeah, you know what? neither have i." wolf smiled, trying to keep things on the lighter side. Snake stared at the ground. "hey, what's wrong? so you eat a little! there's nothing wrong with survival! so you have a gigantic appetite, we'll work with that. maybe that is part of your own personal genetics that we can eventually learn to control! practice every day, and maybe that appetite wont control you anymore." Snake looked his brother in the eyes and smiled "you really think so?" Wolf nodded, showing confidence he did not actually possess. for his concern for his brother weighed heavily on his mind, but he dared not let it show. he needed his brother to be confident as well if he was ever going to help him control his appetite. but Shadow Wolf had no experience with a real appetite. he, as well as all other skinwalkers before Snake, did not have much an appetite at all. they were largely able to survive off of a human's diet by the weight. one mammal a day was more than enough for most skinwalkers, and JUST enough for some. Snake's consistent 12+ creatures a day was just astounding. indeed, this concerned Shadow Wolf very deeply. "what's say we put the molecular morphing practice on hold tomorrow, and see if we cant find the source of your hunger? if we can find out what makes you so hungry, we can morph it into a more appropriate use." Snake smiled "you think we can do that?" wolf grinned wryly "i dont know about me, but im pretty sure you'll be able to learn!" they laughed.

The day was spent like most days, practicing shape shifting, though not as often, and eating lots of animals, this time more than usual, and with keen interest on the digestion process.
Shadow Wolf participated as well, both for the sake of encouraging Snake Viper, and especcially for the sake of comparing their results so as to better ascertain the cause of Snake's hunger, but also because until Wolf suggested it to his brother, he, himself, had never thought to stody his own digestive processes.
They spent more time on their meals than usual, chewing slowly, making note of every sensation and impulse they felt as they devoured chicken after chicken, fox after fox, cow after cow, crow after crow...
On one hand, Shadow Wolf was somewhat excited and impressed at the height of his genetic cumulations, while on the other, equally astounded as concerned that his body was able to stomach as much food as Snake Vipers - perhaps this hunger was a latent gene in skinwalkers, and simply awakened in snake...
"It feels like the food disappears when it gets to my stomach, it gets..." Snake couldnt describe the feeling of his food dissolving in his stomach "... like when water runs through your fur. i feel it get to my stomach, but then it feels like it's falling through and going somewhere else..."
"yeah i see what you mean" Wolf responded between chewing bites of his falcon. "it's like it washes away... and i can feel the cells being absorbed by my body..."
"I can too... does it always burn when we absorb DNA?"
"Burn?" Wolf's question was so present and heavy that Snake could almost reach out and touch it. Shadow wolf could see a sudden rise of concern in his brother's eyes but knew he was too far in now to simply cover his tracks, so he decided to learn what he could instead. "Can you describe this burn?" Snake was sarcastic "You ever put your hand over a fire or stand on hot rocks in the summer? or maybe ate rotten fruit? more like rotten fruit, it is a warming and hot feeling in my stomach while the food disappears..."
Shadow wolf could not relate to more than the fire and hot rocks examples, as alcohol did not affect skinwalkers the same as other creatures. He'd eaten rotten fruit, but like other skinwalkers, the burn of alcohol was nonexistent as they were able to metabolize the natural toxins.
"Rotten fruit isnt hot, it's not even warm, how can that burn you?" Wolf was puzzled. This puzzlement also puzzled Viper "Not warm to the touch, a different warm, it gets hot as it passes down my throat even... like... hot water?"
The two brothers shared in their confusion for a moment.
"im going to get some fruit, go ahead and finish my share of the falcons" Wolf said, indicating his stockpile of 12 birds, since Viper already ate all his share of falcons and other wingged people.
All that were left were the 4 Hippos, 12 hyeenahs, and 16 *running lizzards*.
"eh, try not to eat more than half my share of the animals eh?" Wolf half toyed, since he really wasnt interested, but deffenitely wanted to compare accurately.
Shadow Wolf took off in search of fruit laying around the plains.
Viper was still, as always, hungry, but tried to hold off in wait for Shadow Wolf.
He nibbled on his first Hippo.
While Shadow Wolf was off searching the local area for fruit, someone else had taken an interest in Snake.
Wolf Checked the brush 12 meters away while a cloaked man gathered fish along the stream, 3 kilometers in the opposite direction.
Sensing each other for the first time, Snake and the cloaked man were drawn toward one another; the elder gazes up from his fishing nets, Viper cocks his head toward the man while chewing his hyeenah like a cannibal.
The elder was more intent on the sensation than his fishing, his villagers offhandedly commented behind his back on his distracted composure.
Snake Viper, the hyeenah seemed to lose his appetite, his head cocked more directly at the man, unable to see him beyond the treeline, unaware of what he sensed, unaware "what" was "who".
Shadow Wolf, studying his brother more than the rotten fruit noticed him stop eating.
He hadnt found a lot in spite of the fair amount of fruit "wastage" the avarage plant produces, in spite of the eden like area they were in, he came back to snake with little haul and no excuse.
"Well let's see what this burn you talk about is, shall we?" He said, sitting down.
Snake snapped to nonchalantly and cocked his head back at his brother, shape shifting from a hyeenah to a Spider Monkey.
He grabbed a piece of warm mushy mango and took a bite. the searing warmth of the alcohol pleased him as much as it burned.
Wolf shape shifted into a spider monkey and devoured an equally soft papaya and felt his body metabolizing it. no different than anything else he eats, it dissolves and conjoins his body not dissimilar to when a sentient body conjoins his cellular consciousness.
"So... "Burn" huh?" Wolf said.
"yeah, it's like it's burning my liver and stomach, i can feel them dissolving and regenerating at the same time, it's... warm..."
This was different, Shadow wolf knew that there shouldnt be any dissolving of the body unless by forign object piercing or tearing the flesh. what he proposed was acidic, which could only harm a skinwalker to an extent before they simple shape shift into another body to absorb the additional damage. it is instinct.
The fact viper did not shape shift betrayed instinct, or tolorated he was in no threat to do so.
Shadow wolf stood up, glaring at his brother. Viper hadnt noticed wolf's human legs shape shifting into werewolf until it was too late.
