Back story for Cederfern begins in the Nessitopia world-era.
Stoner is the newly created pet wolf god to the old god of the nessitopian realm, and the god of time and space. his twisted tale (and tail) lead him to a party of heroes, including the Demigod Ness, himself.
In a battle against the robot Atlas and it's slaves of squid, on the surface of an unnamed planet, the party saves the squid people and the carnifern prisoner, Cederfern.
Cederfern commandeers the squid people and commands them to build her a ship with ultraviolent interior lights and a biosphere in the bridge, where she is able to survive and command the ship.
They build the ship out of the remaining parts of the titanic robot, Atlas.
The Atlas Mach VIII serves the crew well enough until Cederfern is able to locate and properly thank Stoner and party for their dashing and enigmatic rescue.
Stoner's affections for Cederfern grow exponentially each time they encounter each other, and immediately delivers her a supercharged gift upon learning her abilities.
She crafts a moss agate from her core which Stoner uses his soul energy to supercharge, giving cederfern the ability to survive beyond her natural abilities.
Her original limits were that she required direct sunlight when uprooted, or she must be rooted into a fertile soil in the absence of sunlight.
Now with the supercharged moss agate, she could survive without any more need than adequate nutrition and sleep.
They parted ways and Ceder and her crew of calamari took off on adventure, knowing that she and her newfound companion would always be connected by the moss agate.
Before departing, Stoner explained how charged items, charged with his energies, would become bound to his life and existence. should he ever die, his body would become ethereal, and so would all objects charged with his energies.
The moss agate was special, for it was crafted from Ceder's own core energies. when stoner charged it, he became bound to ceder's awareness.
so long as the moss agate was charged with stoner's energy, cederfern would know everything stoner saw, heard, smelled, tasted, and felt.
upon his death, he moss agate would not become etheric, but Ceder would know it just as surely as he would himself, and the powers bestowed upon cederfern would disappear.
Ceder and the calamar found their adventures in distant corners of the nessitopian galaxy, and rescued two genetically altered children who had escaped from the oceanic planet of gaia back when it was the base of a genetic research team for Noir.
They became close companions and eventually strong allies for Ceder and her crew.
