Skinwalkers are Shape shifters whose purpose is simply to cause confusion and chaos in the world, even amongst themselves.
they can only shape shift into the form of creatures whose bodies they have eaten the organs of, or at least enough of.
they could, essentially, drink the blood of a victim, but they would require so much blood that their target would most surely die.
they can only assume the form of a victim, they cannot choose their faces, scents, or voices.
the skinwalker's body is very simplistic and stick like.

they have only 4 joints, the shoulders, and the hips. no neck.
their eyes are tiny holes in their head that glow. the colors depend on the skinwalker's mood, they are akin to an aura.
white for innocence, red for passion, blue for fear, and so on and so forth.
their noses are the same, but do not glow, and are located closer together, between the eyes and the mouth.
the mouth is a larger hole with rows of razor sharp teeth.
they have no muscles on their bodies, in fact, their bodies are a strange black fabric, soft, yet solid, hard as bone. they are permitted movement only because they can shapeshift into their default body by nature. the only way they can move is by re-shifting each limb into an alternate position.
balance would appear difficult, but their shape shifting is a magnetic occurrence, so they are also in tune to the earth's magnetic fields, and can use them to balance their default skinwalker bodies.
using their natural magnetic abilities, they can mimic the genetics of any body they have consumed enough of, shifting the shape of their bodies simultaneously.
once they have assumed the genetics of another creature, they are free to live life as the creature they have morphed.
the lifespan of a skinwalker is indefinite, they will live forever unless killed by physical wound, or unnatural sickness.
they are immune to all forms of natural poison and illness, due to their magnetic morphing abilities.
most skinwalkers alive now are the offspring of skinwalkers that have been around since the world was still a Pangaea.
Most skinwalkers to ever have died, died before the continental split.
