there are spirits which govern the elements of the world, usually pertaining primarily to physics.
the names are, i believe, Norse, but i honestly have no clue, and i am changing a few names where noted.
Water - Undine - water wisps/droplets
Earth - - disembodied gnomes
Wind - Sylphid or Sylvestris - sylphs.
Fire - Ifrit - disembodied salamanders
Light - Aska - light wisps
Shadow - Shade - shadow wisps
Moon - Luna - reflection wisps
Nature - - Carniferns*
Magnetism/electricity - - energy wisps/Orbs
Weather - (possibly Storm) -
Snow - - Snow Wisps
Rebirth - Phoenix - Phoenixes
elementals are lorded by the given name, and their species/race is noted beside the name.
players may make contracts with elementals under certain circumstances including researching summoning, and having an artifact through wich you make the contract and bind the player to the individual elemental.
no players may make contracts with the elemental lords, such as undine, or ifrit themselves, however may make contracts with the spirits they lord over such as sylphs and gnomes.
in order to make a contract you must first invoke the spirit and make contact, this may be a spirit lord, but they will refuse to make any contracts. second, you must convince them to agree to bind their being to your artifact so that you may summon them at will.
you must know summoning or have at least one summoning book on hand.
*carniferns are half humanoid half plant. having leaves, twigs, vines, and flowers covering their body at their own will, and different floral hairstyles, for example, long drooping palm fronds, or a tumble weed afro.
they have humanoid torsos and faces, but roots in place of any legs.
physically they would use these roots to pull themselves around, or if they are ingenious enough, wrap them up like muscles and walk on two bark laden legs.
before the barrier falls, carniferns are spiritual, bearing no physical embodiments, save for the NPC Cederfern.
